OPINION
Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to bemoan the news that Neil Lennon has been appointed as the club’s new permanent manager on a 12-month rolling contract, as confirmed by the club’s official website. Lennon earned the opportunity to take over at Celtic Park for the second time on a permanent basis, after helping the club achieve two domestic trophies since taking over on a temporary basis in February. However, it is perhaps surprising that he has only been handed a deal on a 12-month rolling contract, and some Celtic fans seem to believe that it represents the club are opting for a cheap option rather than going all out for another more established big name manager. Celtic supporters will need to get behind Lennon for next season and he has shown that he has the ability to win trophies at Celtic Park. However, Celtic made need to make investments in the summer window to keep supporters satisfied and behind the team next term.

Ambition off the scale as usual from Celtic. Building on years of success. ?

£9m from Leicester. Three months to prepare and Lennon is the outcome. Can’t say I’m not surprised. Cheap appointment and lack of ambition shown once again from the club. Disappointing to say the least.

Let the penny pinching commence.

Safe option more than anything. Given some of the names mentioned it was always probably going to be Lennon. Massive downgrade from Rodgers though, we knew it would’ve been a downgrade but Lennon shouldn’t be getting it. Let’s hope for his sake + the board it’s the right decision
