Marcelo Bielsa wants to bring in four new players to Leeds this summer with specific focus on improving the wingers, according to Phil Hay.

Writing in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Hay said that Leeds would be looking to Premier League loans this summer and would have one eye on financial fair play after expected losses of £15million in this calendar year.

Championship clubs are not allowed to exceed more than a £39million loss over a three-year period and Birmingham received a nine-point penalty in March after breaching this.

Leeds didn’t come out very well from their loan picks last season, with Izzy Brown flopping dramatically.

However, Aston Villa and Derby showed the way as they contested the play-off final with Tammy Abraham, Tyrone Mings, Axel Tuanzebe, Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Fikayo Tomori all starring at Wembley.

OPINION

Leeds want to bring Jack Harrison back to Leeds this summer after the Man City winger did enough to impress Marcelo Bielsa. If he comes back, that would leave three more players and it seems like attack is where Bielsa is looking. There are plenty of talented youngsters in the Premier League but it’s key that Leeds get it right this season. Tammy Abraham was a sensation for Aston Villa and his goals helped fire them back into the Premier League. He wants to stay at Chelsea next season but a striker who can score 20-25 goals should be high on the Leeds shopping list. Could they persuade Newcastle to let them have Dwight Gayle? He would definitely provide the goals that Leeds need. If Leeds keep hold of Kalvin Phillips and Pontus Jansson, they should be fine in midfield and defence, and Jamie Shackleton can be just like a new signing. They might need a new goalkeeper though, with speculation that Kiko Casilla could leave. That would free up a large chunk of money on wages though and that could be used to bring a striker on the level of Gayle in.
