Mirror journalist David Anderson has delivered a definitive update on Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani, saying that he “is not selling up at Leeds and will remain in charge for next season at least”.

This comes after it was reported that PSG’s owner, Qatar Sports Investments, was looking to buy a major stake in the club.

Radrizzani bought 100% of the club from Massimo Cellino but sold a minority stake to the San Francisco 49ers for £11million last summer.

OPINION

This is a pretty definitive statement from Anderson, who is a good source of Leeds news. Radrizzani has admitted that it’s going to be a tough summer for Leeds, with little money available for transfers. However, it doesn’t look like he’s going to sell and we think that’s good news for Leeds fans who are desperate for news on Marcelo Bielsa. Radrizzani has been locked in talks with the Argentine manager last week and we’d say that if he’s staying for another season, it would make Radrizzani much more bullish about Leeds’ chances of getting to the Premier League at the next attempt. That would see his investment pay huge dividends and he doesn’t seem ready to call a time on his Leeds’ tenure yet. Some Leeds fans would like to see him go and see new money come into the club in time for the summer transfer window, but we can’t help but think that’s short-termism. Radrizzani has done a lot at Leeds, not least bringing Bielsa in, and we want to see the two of them tackle the Championship again next season.
