Celtic’s official Twitter account revealed that defender Emilio Izaguirre was set to start against Hibernian on Sunday and many Hoops supporters fumed as a result. One supporter was even so angry that they claimed they’d rather play a woolly jumper at left-back then have the 32-year-old feature. The fact that anyone would rather an inanimate object play rather than a professional footballer, summed up the angry mood regarding Neil Lennon’s decision to play him. It’s understandable why there was anger in the air over Izaguirre getting the nod as he has more often than not proved to be a liability for his side. The 32-year-old simply doesn’t have the pace to cope with fast attackers running at him and sometimes he is found so far out of position, you wonder how he ended up there. However while Izaguirre may be potentially a weak point for Hibs to expose, Celtic should be able to still get a victory on Sunday. So all this anger directed at Izaguirre and Lennon may soon be forgotten by the time the final whistle blows against Hibs.
