COMMENTARY
Celtic drew 0-0 with Hibernian on Sunday and it’s fair to say it wasn’t the result Hoops supporters wanted or expected. Yet despite their clear frustration with their side, many Celtic supporters were able to still show their appreciation for defender Kristoffer Ajer. One fan boldly claimed that Ajer at the age of only 21-years-old was the best centre-back in Britain with another comparing him to Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk. While Ajer has a bright future in football and has the skill set to go far in the game, to claim he is already the best in Britain for his position is certainly going to raise eyebrows. For example given that former Celtic player Virgil van Dijk has been tearing it up for the Reds this season, would anyone rank Ajer already above him? Surely not. However you feel that due to Celtic being disappointing across the board against Hibs on Sunday, they went a little over-the-top when they found a player worthy of their praise.
