Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa would love to make Real Sociedad star Ruben Pardo part of his squad this summer with the Spanish midfielder given the green light to leave, according to El Gol Digital.

The Spanish news outlet claim that the 26-year-old, who has appeared 18 times in La Liga this season, is firmly in the Argentine manager’s sights as the transfer team at Elland Road prepare for promotion to the Premier league.

It is stated that Sociedad would not stand in the way of his exit after struggling to remain as a first choice option recently, having made 187 appearances for the top flight side.

Good move for Leeds?

There is definitely a need for midfield reinforcements at Elland Road this summer, with Bielsa having had limited options to call upon this season.

Adam Forshaw, Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich have been his main trio but with the club looking at a Premier League campaign, there are definite improvements that need to be made.

Pardo has been a decent performer for Sociedad and at 26-years-old he still has some room to grow before hitting his full potential, but you have to question why the club are giving the green light for him to leave.

Just do not expect goals from Pardo if he does make the move to England, having only scored six in his 187 appearances – his assist record reading a little better with 33.

Likely to happen?

If Bielsa is keen and Sociedad are happy to sell, then absolutely.

Pardo would likely not turn down a move to play in England’s top flight and so all parties involved will be getting what they want, which is a rarity when it comes to transfers.
