Finally, some news that many West Brom fans are delighted with. Steven Reid is reportedly on his way back to The Hawthorns to join James Shan’s coaching set-up. According to Telegraph journalist John Percy, the 38-year-old is set to be hired as Albion’s new first-teach coach and is expected to be at the club’s Palm Training Ground on Thursday. Understandably, some Albion supporters were blown away by this update on Wednesday, because Reid was a well-loved player at the Baggies during his playing days there. Reid played for West Brom between 2010 and 2014. He made 88 appearances in all competitions for West Brom during that time and really helped them become an established Premier League club. Since retiring, Reid has coached with Reading, Crystal Palace and AFC Wimbledon, so he is definitely someone who knows what he is doing. Shan is going to need all the help he can get in the coming weeks and hiring someone like Reid, who knows the club and is a great up-and-coming coach, is the smartest thing Mark Jenkins has done all season.
