OPINION
Kieran Trippier has been one of the most disappointing players in English football this season. Tottenham’s jet-heeled right-back had a stormer of a World Cup with England, but since then he has been well off the boil, and that was present in the first-half against Manchester City on Wednesday night. Neither team defended well as four goals were scored in less than 11 minutes, but Trippier was without doubt the worst defender on the pitch. Raheem Sterling got the best of the former Burnley star on two occasions to score City’s first and third goals. It simply isn’t good enough to let a player like Sterling have so much time and space in the box. Trippier also showed the winger onto his right foot for the first goal, which is just awful defending. It is no shock to see so many Tottenham fans destroying the right-back for what was a disaster of a first-half against Man City.
