If a couple of recent updates are to be believed, the chances of Christian Eriksen being a Tottenham player by the time next season starts have taken a boost and understandably there are many fans who are thrilled with that news. The Daily Mail has reported that Daniel Levy has slapped a £130million price-tag on Eriksen’s head and the Times has recently followed up that report by saying that Real Madrid’s interest in the Denmark international is cooling. It is without great surprise that this is music to the ears of Tottenham supporters, who have taken to Twitter to heap praise on chairman Levy for his hardline approach over Eriksen’s future. The next step for Spurs will be to try and get Eriken to sign a new contract. His current deal expires at the end of next season and to avoid the risk of letting him leave for fee, the London club needs to get him to put pen to paper on a new agreement. It would be a huge boost for Spurs if they manage to do that now that Real Madrid are backing off in their pursuit of the midfield playmaker.
