Eros Grezda, Borna Barisic, and Kyle Lafferty may have played their last match for Rangers, according to the National.

The trio featured in the Gers’ friendly outing against Liverpool U23s on Tuesday, a match that eventually ended in a 4-4 draw after a dire first half showing from Steven Gerrard’s men.

And it is understood that while the manager was less than impressed with any of his players, Grazda, Barisic, and Lafferty – who were all withdrawn at half time – could be headed for the exit at Ibrox after a frustrating performance.

OPINION

This is a clear indication of how much work Gerrard still has to do at Rangers. The club have been hit and miss this season, but for the most part you would probably have to say that they have improved a decent amount under the former Liverpool man’s tutelage. There is still, however, a significant amount of deadwood in the squad, and several players who need to be gotten rid of this summer. That will help streamline and free up funds, and you would hope that after another summer of investment, Gerrard might have enough at his disposal to have a proper go at the title. There is still a lot of ground to be made up on Celtic, that much is evident, but the Gers are on the right track, and sometimes, getting rid of certain players can be just as important as keeping or bringing in other ones.
