Manuel Pellegrini could find it hard to say no to Roma after it was reported that Edin Dzeko has been offered to West Ham by the Serie A giants.

According to Sky Sports, Roma have let West Ham know that they can sign the 33-year-old striker from them in the summer transfer window as he enters the final year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

Dzeko has been in stellar form for Roma this season despite his advancing years, scoring 13 goals and supplying eight assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Pellegrini previously managed the Bosnia and Herzegovina international during his spell at Manchester City.

He won the 2013/14 Premier League title while playing for the Hammers manager, and in that season the centre-forward netted 26 goals and supplied 16 assists.

It was without doubt the best season that Dzeko has had in his career and Pellegrini bound to be drooling over the prospect of potentially reuniting with the Roma forward in the summer.

West Ham will more than likely need to sign a new striker or two in the next transfer window because Andy Carroll’s contract expires at the end of the season while there has also been speculation regarding the future of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez.

Even though Dzeko is 33-years-old, he could end up being an improvement on all four of the Irons’ existing strikers if he is able to rediscover the form he has previously shown under Pellegrini.

Now that Roma have reportedly offered the target man to West Ham, Pellegrini is sure to snap him up in the summer.

It is surely exciting news for West Ham fans, who will be dreaming of Dzeko hitting the heights that he showed under Pellegrini’s leadership just a few years ago.
