Rangers will tell full-back Lee Hodson to find a new club in the summer as they prepare to get rid of the Northern Ireland international, according to Football Insider.

The reliable news outlet has claimed that the 27-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and the Gers have no intention of offering him new terms.

Hodson has spent this season on loan at St Mirren and seems as though he has already played his final game for the Ibrox giants.

OPINION

It is no surprise to see that Hodson will be on his way out of Ibrox in the summer as he is without doubt nowhere near the quality of player that is needed in the Rangers squad. The Northern Irish defender has not had an amazing season on loan with relegation-threatened St Mirren, and if he cannot impress there, then what chance does he have at Ibrox? Hodson is barely good enough for the Scottish Premiership so you can see the former Watford player heading back south of the border in the summer after a failed spell at Rangers where he has only made 27 total appearances since 2016. It is a shame that Hodson’s spell at Ibrox has not quite worked out for him but he is only 27-years-old and will have learned a lot from his time in Scotland. Hopefully he can revive his career elsewhere after a rather forgetful season at St Mirren.
