Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will bounce back to winning ways by beating Brentford at Griffin Park on Monday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men dropped out of the automatic promotion spots on Friday as they lost to relegation-threatened Wigan and Sheffield United beat Nottingham Forest.

Ex-Leeds midfielder Prutton expects the Whites to pick up three points in the capital on Monday though, tipping the Yorkshire giants to win 2-1.

“This should be a cracker to finish off a packed Easter weekend of EFL action. Leeds will be desperate to better, or at least match, Sheffield United’s result after their shock defeat to Wigan at Elland Road on Good Friday and despite Brentford’s formidable home record this season, they have little to play for.

“The Whites haven’t won at Griffin Park since August 1950, but I’m backing them to recover from Friday’s defeat and take all three points on this occasion.”

OPINION

Leeds should win against Brentford, but then again, many would have suggested the same ahead of the clash against Wigan at Elland Road on Friday afternoon. Brentford are much better team than Paul Cook’s side and they should be a challenge for the Whites, who need all three points on Monday otherwise their bid for automatic promotion could be over. Sheffield United have a slightly easier run-in than Leeds, and you would expect Chris Wilder’s side to pick up at least seven points in the final three matches. Leeds have no choice but to win all of their’s, so it will be interesting to see how the players cope with that kind of pressure. Bielsa should make some changes on Monday. He hasn’t been a fan of mixing things up in terms of his team selection this season. However there were too many passengers on Friday and in a bid to keep things fresh, he should consider dropping two or three players.
