Wolves are keen on signing Liverpool attacker Rafael Camacho, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has hit 12 goals and assisted eight more for the Reds’ youth sides so far this season, but has failed to agree to a new deal on Merseyside, alerting several clubs to his situation.

Alongside the Midlands club, Camacho is also understood to be attracting admiration from Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, as well as Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

Good move for Wolves?

Camacho certainly shows a lot of promise. The young midfielder has an eye for goal and the potential to cause defenders real headaches, and you could easily foresee a situation in the near future whereby he would be ready to make his breakthrough into senior football. The fact that sides like Dortmund and Leipzig are looking at him should give you an indication of his quality, and Wolves could pull off a real coup if they were able to bring him in from Liverpool.

Likely to happen?

It seems pretty certain that Camacho will be moving on this summer. Whether that is to Wolves remains to be seen. There will be plenty of competition for his signature from a host of top sides, but Wolves are ambitious and willing to go toe to toe with much bigger clubs in the transfer market. There is nothing to suggest that they couldn’t steal a march in the race for Camacho’s services, and the fact that they have a Portuguese manager, and could probably offer him a fair amount of first team football, could be big deciding factors. Don’t rule it out.
