Wolves are interested in Olympiacos winger Daniel Podence, according to Fos Online.

The Greek news outlet reports on their website that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have set their sights on the 23-year-old once again after being keen on signing him last season.

However, the report states that the decision to move for Podence – who moved to the Greek outfit last summer – will be made by agent Jorge Mendes.

Mendes made the decision to send the player to Olympiacos last year, with a view to then transfer him to another club either this summer or the next.

Good move for Wolves?

Podence is currently in promising form for Olympiacos, scoring eight goals already this season. However, it remains to be seen how he would fit into the Wolves team at the moment. Diogo Jota is Nuno’s first choice to start on the left wing, and this looks unlikely to change considering how well he has played in recent times. If Wolves were to sign him, it looks like he would have to compete with Jota for the starting spot.

Likely to happen?

Yes, this move is likely to happen, but it all rests on Mendes if this report is anything to go by. They say that the decision to move for him will be down to the agent, so it remains to be seen if Podence will end up at the club. If Mendes gives the go-ahead, then a move will certainly be on the cards. He would be a decent signing for the club, providing depth in a key area of the team.
