Tottenham will listen to offers for striker Vincent Janssen this summer despite his recent return to the first team fold, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football site reports that Mauricio Pochettino is willing to give the greenlight for the club to consider offers for the 24-year-old, who came off the bench in midweek in a 1-0 win over Brighton.

It is reported that Janssen is on £34k-a-week on his current deal.

The report states that his recent comeback will only be a short one, as Spurs are keen on forcing a summer exit for a player who had not appeared for the team in nearly two years before Tuesday.

Good move for Tottenham?

Yes, this would be a good move for Spurs. Just because he was handed a cameo against the Seagulls, that does not mean that he has a future at the club. The fact that he had not made an appearance in nearly two years tells us everything that we need to know, so the club are much better off cashing in on him then keeping him on. There is no guarantee that would make much of an impact if he stayed anyway.

Likely to happen?

There is every chance that there will be some suitors for Janssen out there, so a move could be on the cards this summer. Pochettino clearly does not want him if he has greenlighted the idea of listening to offers, and the report says that they intend to push through the sale. The likelihood of seeing Janssen in a Spurs shirt next season is very slim indeed, and to be honest, he would not be much of a loss. Janssen is out of contract in 2020 which means this is the last window they can get a decent fee for him. They won’t be able to recoup the £20million they paid for him and they would snap the hands off anyone who offered half that. We think there would be suitors if the price is right.
