Darren Gough heaped praise on Wolves’ squad after Adrian Durham questioned whether they were starting to stall.

The talkSPORT broadcaster revealed he wasn’t overly impressed with Wolves’ recent results, ahead of them beating Arsenal, and this prompted Gough to defend the club.

The former English cricketer highlighted that not only were Wolves strong going forward but that they had very good young players in their squad, and he proceeded to name-drop Morgan Gibbs-White in the process.

“They’ve got plenty of people going forward who can attack at pace, they’ve got good young players in their squad as well, Gibbs-White,” said Gough on talkSPORT (16:22 Wednesday April 24th).

“Y’know what I mean they’ve got plenty of options going forward.”

While Gibbs-White has showcased some of his promising talent in his 28 outings this season, he often gets overlooked from those outside the club.

The likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty normally end up stealing the headlines for Wolves and this sees the likes of Gibbs-White fly under the radar.

While this situation is no doubt helping him development in peace, given that he is only 19-years-old and this is only his first campaign in the Premier League, he should be spoken about more.

Gibbs-White has proven his toughness in England’s top-flight and seems to be learning by his own experience, which means Wolves fans should be excited about his long-term future.

Yet for now given that Gough has given the player his own spotlight by only naming him in his gushing verdict on Wolves, the player should be grinning from ear-to-ear for finally being highlighted like he deserves.
