COMMENTARY
Granit Xhaka’s first-half display caused many Arsenal fans to have hearts in their eyes as they were in awe of him at half-time against Wolves. The 26-year-old midfielder had one fan claiming they had finally seen the light as they now realised how good he is, while another dubbed the player “massively underrated.” While Xhaka didn’t do anything ground breaking against Wolves in the first 45 minutes, it’s easy to see why Gunners fans were impressed. The Swiss midfielder was strong in the challenge and played simple passes in order to dictate the tempo of the game. Basically Xhaka ran the midfield for his side and made it impossible for Wolves to establish a foothold in the game or dominate possession. While the midfielder is often panned by fans due to him being a bit of a liability due to how he loves to slide into challenges, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a quality player to call upon when his temper is in check. Hopefully the midfielder is able to keep wowing in the second-half as it’s not like Arsenal were winning at the break, as they were 3-0 down.
