OPINION
Credit where credit is due, Michail Antonio will always put in a shift. The West Ham forward is seemingly tireless, and puts in no amount of effort when it comes to chasing down and stretching defences. But sometimes hard work isn’t enough at the top level. The forward opened the scoring for West Ham in their 1-0 win over Tottenham, but it wasn’t enough to absolve a performance that for the most part had fans fuming. His finish was classy, and his movement was sharp as a tac, but it was rare moment of quality in an otherwise sorry performance. If West Ham are to improve next season, they need to focus on consistency. They have shown the term that they are more than capable of turning it on against the big teams, but they haven’t shown that kind of quality often enough. Antonio is entirely emblematic of this. Some weeks he impresses, occasionally he is dire. Apart from his goal, this was a case of the latter. Make no mistake, the fact that he secured all three points will no doubt paper over a lot of the cracks in his performance, but this was a deeply flawed showing from the front man.

Love him and all but Antonio does get on my nerves. How can you not spot the pass to Anderson there? I know he hasn't got great technical ability, but he doesn't even try to make the pass 95% of the time

He’s been decent 2nd half now we are playing it into his feet and where he’s asking for it…again antonio being greedy didn’t pass after Arnie ran the length of the pitch for it
