West Ham United duo Javier Hernandez and Manuel Lanzini have returned to training ahead of the clash against Tottenham on Saturday, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.

Both players missed the 2-2 draw with Leicester City last weekend, with Hernandez being absent due to an issue with his ear, and Lanzini being ruled out because of a muscle injury he sustained in the loss to Manchester United a couple of weeks ago.

However, both players could feature against Spurs this weekend after returning to training, as relayed by Football London reporter Sam Inkersole on his personal Twitter account.

Samir Nasri is set to miss out again after being ruled out of the previous two fixtures.

OPINION

Having both of these players return to training ahead of such a tough fixture must have been quite the boost for Pellegrini. Lanzini may not have had the best couple of games before he was sidelined, but the way he has rose to the occasion after facing a long spell on the sidelines before has been admirable. When he is on a good day, he can cause some real damage, and the fans will certainly have their fingers crossed that he features on Saturday. Marko Arnautovic hardly blew anyone away in his mediocre showing last week, so it must be a relief to have Hernandez back in the fold. At the moment, he has proven to be more effective up front than his Austrian teammate, so he must be the obvious choice to start. Nasri, on the other hand, has not been having a good time of it lately – and this latest absence only reinforces that.
