Tottenham are winning the race for in-demand Fulham winger Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Sun.

Fulham have been relegated from the Premier League and the 18-year-old is one of the Premier League’s hottest properties.

He’s reportedly wanted by Man United and PSG, as well as in north London, but the report claims that Mauricio Pochettino could be the draw that helps win the race.

The Sun claims that Tottenham could get a deal done in the summer with Pochettino’s reputation for working with young players key.

OPINION

Sessegnon is out of contract in 2020 and Fulham would only get compensation – said to be £500,000 – if he leaves then. That would be a fraction of his current market value and although the Sun claims Sessegnon is tempted to run his contract down, we can’t see the west London club allowing that to happen. It’s been a hugely disappointing season for Fulham who have been outclassed in the Premier League and they could do with money to rebuild. And it’s not been a great season for Sessegnon, who didn’t make the impact in the top-flight that Fulham would have been hoping. We think that will have had an impact on his price – said to be £50million last year. A year away from being out of contract and his form at Fulham will have chipped away at that, and we’re convinced that Pochettino could turn him into the world class player his early talent promised.
