COMMENTARY
Many Tottenham fans weren’t in the best of moods by the time the half-time whistle blew during their clash with Ajax on Tuesday, as their team didn’t have much to cheer about in the first half. Spurs went into the break 1-0 down and were completely torn apart. While several Spurs players probably had the blood of supporters boiling, it was Fernando Llorente who they opted to focus on. Many Spurs fans just couldn’t see the point of the forward during the match, with one dubbing him lazy and another calling him a waste of a shirt. Given that Llorente is the type of forward that thrives on good service, it’s not like his teammates helped him in the first-half. The ball was not whipped into the box for Llorente to try to head home anywhere near enough and it’s no surprise the attacker struggled to have any impact in the match. However given that the veteran looked isolated upfront, maybe Mauricio Pochettino will change his system in the second half.

Llorente sadly just isn't up to speed at this level. We have to change our play to work with his attributes #COYS

Fernando Llorente’s best plays so far:
3) headed ball in wrong direction
2) let ball role under foot
1) ignored Dele’s thru ball in on goal— Samuel Army (@thesamuelarmy) April 30, 2019

If Llorente can't hold the ball up, there's literally no reason for him to be on the pitch #THFC #COYS

This team must just see when Llorente is on the teamsheet and immediately think 'Whats the point'. He just kills off any believe the players have.
