Former Spurs player Graham Roberts has sent out a rallying cry to fans ahead of Tottenham’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Ajax tonight.
The atmosphere in the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should be electric tonight and Roberts has tweeted what most Spurs fans will be thinking.
Posting on his personal Twitter page he said, “If ever there is a night for every single one of us to raise the roof, it’s tonight. COYS.”

Daniel Levy would have been hoping to stage ties as big as the Champions League semi-final at the new stadium but perhaps wouldn’t have been expecting it to happen so soon. This is as big as it gets in terms of home ties at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and we know that every Spurs fan will be ready to let rip tonight to try and help their squad into a lead to take to Ajax next week. They’ve got a fantastic chance of progressing but they’ll need to be much better than on Saturday when they fell 1-0 to West Ham. The fans could make all the difference tonight and we can remember plenty of famous European ties at Anfield where the Liverpool fans seemed to suck the ball into the net. That’s what the Tottenham players will be hoping for tonight and we’re sure they’ll get it. There could be some very hoarse voices in north London tomorrow morning. And, if Tottenham win, some very fuzzy heads too.
