Perez can silence Brazil

Alan Brazil created his perfect five-a-side line-up using only Newcastle United and Brighton players and it’s very fair to say it’s rather baffling.

Despite the Seagulls struggling this season, the talkSPORT host opted to pick only one Magpies player and have four members of Chris Hughton’s side.

While several Magpies players should be up in arms at being snubbed by Brazil after his line-up was shared on talkSPORT’s Twitter, one player in particular should be miffed.

This player is none other than Ayoze Perez.

The 25-year-old is in red-hot form currently for Rafa Benitez’s side and should have walked into Brazil’s five-a-side team for that reason and many others.

Perez, who has scored 11 goals and assisted four this season across his 38 outings, is more worthy of a place in Brazil’s team than Brighton duo Anthony Knockaert and Glenn Murray.

This is especially the case when you consider that the Spaniard would be perfectly suited to five-aside-football.

Perez has silky-skills, can operate in tight spaces and his current form in front of goal shows that he could heap misery on any side.

Could the same be said about Murray or Knockaert? No.

So it’s not like Brazil can defend his choice by saying he based his selection purely on who’d excel in a five-aside set-up.

For this reason Brazil has clearly made a mistake to snub Perez from this team and the 25-year-old should show the host the error of his ways by stealing the show against Brighton, as he is more than capable of doing that.
