Derby County manager Frank Lampard sent Manchester City attacker Sergio Aguero a message on Instagram after the 1-0 win against Burnley on Sunday.

Aguero, who scored the only goal of the match, posted a picture of himself celebrating his goal against the Clarets on his verified Instagram account, which prompted the Rams boss to dub him a machine.

“Machine,” wrote Lampard via his personal Instagram account.

Aguero’s match-winning goal against Burnley saw Man City retain their place at the top of the Premier League, with them sat one point above Liverpool as it stands.

OPINION

While Lampard is no doubt busy trying to guide Derby into the Championship play-offs currently, he is clearly still keeping an eye on events at Manchester City. The current Rams boss played for Man City during his playing career, he featured 38 times for them, and is no doubt rooting for them to win the Premier League. Aguero played a huge part in Man City still seating in the driving seat ahead of Liverpool on Sunday as Pep Guardiola’s side were struggling to break Burnley down. However in typical Aguero fashion, he popped up to score when his side needed him most. It’s no surprise that Lampard only need one-word to show his respect for Aguero as by dubbing him a machine, everyone knows what he is talking about. The Man City forward has scored 230 goals in 336 games for the club, and has already guaranteed a place in Man City’s record books as a result.
