Gary Lineker was in awe of Richarlison for his “excellent” first-half performance in Everton’s 4-0 win against Manchester United at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

Richarlison, 21, opened the scoring for the Toffees in their surprise rout of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott also found the net for the Merseyside club.

Match of the Day host Lineker was thrilled with the Brazilian’s display, however he did suggests that one downside to his play is how often he finds himself being treated by physios.

“Excellent first half from Richarlison, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a game where he doesn’t require the physio to come on. Remarkably low pain threshold perhaps,” said Lineker via his personal Twitter account on Sunday.

OPINION

Richarlison was fantastic against Man United, but so was just about every other Everton player as they humiliated the Red Devils and put a huge dent in their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. Richarlison has been really impressive for the Toffees this season. There were worries when Marco Silva paid a big fee to sign the Brazil international from Watford, especially as he had been so quiet at Vicarage Road after Silva left the Hornets last term. However he has definitely shown his worth and once he matures a bit more, the Blues are bound to have themselves a player who is scoring almost every week and making his transfer value soar. If he keeps on playing well next season then there are bound to be clubs interested in signing him. Everton could almost double their money on Richarlison if he can reach his potential, so it is definitely an exciting time to have him in your squad.
