Celtic are plotting a move for Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka, according to the Scottish Sun

The report claims that the 19-year-old is valued at £4.5million and that Neil Lennon went on a personal mission to watch the youngster player against Valenciennes on Monday.

Liverpool and Barcelona have also scouted the striker who has scored nine goals this season.

He’s under contract with Paris FC until 2021 but the report claims the French side are ready to cash in this summer.

His agent Olivier Belesi spoke out about his future move but was tight-lipped about where he would go.

“There are big clubs interested but we manage all of this quietly, without pressure,” he said.

“Silas has the potential and the qualities to go higher and that is why we will make no mistake with the project we propose.”

OPINION

Celtic haven’t had the same impact up top since Moussa Demebele left and Lennon is heading back to Paris to try and find bottled lightning again. Silas Wamangituka has turned a lot of heads and after reports that Liverpool and Barcelona are also tracking the player, Celtic might need to act fast to bag him this summer. After what happened with Dembele, Celtic could be seen as the perfect stepping stone for the young striker. He’s not going to get first-team game-time with either Liverpool or Barcelona and although signing for a huge club would be tempting, he could easily get lost at either of the giants. £4.5million is a lot of money for a player untested outside the lower French leagues but the Scottish champions are obviously interested if Lennon himself has travelled to watch him play. This is definitely one to keep an eye on as Celtic look to rebuild after the Brendan Rodgers era.
