OPINION

Pablo Hernandez has been amazing for Leeds United this season, but is it time to take him off penalties? The 34-year-old missed from the spot in the first-half against Wigan on Friday, which led to many Leeds fans taking to Twitter to rip into the Spanish playmaker. Every player can miss penalties, it’s just something that happens and while it’s easy to understand the frustration, some of the reactions were well over the top. Hernandez has been one of the best players in the Championship this term and doesn’t deserve to be torn to shreds for missing one penalty. The ex-Valencia star does owe Patrick Bamford a beer or two as the striker scored not long after the missed penalty kick. Leeds have another 45 minutes to get themselves back ahead in this game as Wigan scored an equaliser just before the break. As good as Hernandez is, if there is another penalty, Bamford should be the one to take it.
