Colin Murray has acknowledged that they failed to discuss Aston Villa and West Brom on EFL on Quest on Monday night after the two West Midlands rivals saw their spot in the play-offs confirmed.

Villa and the Baggies are likely to meet each other in the play-off semi-finals as it seems that they will both finish in fourth and fifth positions.

Speaking at the end of the Championship highlights on EFL on Quest on Monday, Murray did address the lack of coverage on the two West Midlands rivals, but did offer a teaser about upcoming programmes that are dedicated to the two clubs.

“And listen, if you’re West Bromwich Albion or Aston Villa, take it as a compliment that we haven’t talked about you. We have entire shows dedicated to you coming up once the regular season is over,” Murray said Monday night [09:51pm].

OPINION

Aston Villa have stormed into the play-offs after winning 10 matches on the bounce and it will be really interesting to see if they can manage to finish above West Brom in the Championship table despite looking as though they were out for the count earlier in the campaign. Since Jack Grealish has returned from injury, Dean Smith’s men have been in sensational form and they are the team that no one will want to face in the play-offs. That is why West Brom must finish above them. Not only would it be a psychological blow to finish below Villa, it would also mean that The Hawthorns would host the second-leg of the semi-final. Playing in front of the home fans could be what West Brom need in the play-offs because their form in the Black Country has been very good since James Shan took caretaker charge of the Baggies.
