COMMENTARY
Sheffield United’s trip to Hull City on paper was seen as a tricky fixture before kick-off but after 25 minutes the Blades fans’ nerves were no where to be seen after David McGoldrick scored a classy brace to put them in control. The Republic of Ireland international opened the scoring with a free header from a John Fleck corner and it got even better for the travelling side when McGoldrick turned on the magic. Allowed space to turn 25-yards from goal, the front-man took one touch and curled a beautiful strike in to the top right corner leaving George Long in the Hull goal with no chance. Blades fans have been celebrating early on with one supporter even saying to give McGoldrick a payrise. Many questioned the Yorkshire club and if they could keep up their momentum without their talisman and captain Billy Sharp after a hamstring injury ruled him out of this one. Three points at the KCOM Stadium is exactly what Sheffield United were looking for to put themselves in prime position to achieve promotion automatically with rivals Leeds not playing until later in the day. McGoldrick did what he could to help his side.

David Mcgoldrick has been the biggest player in the last month for us. That's now 15 goals and 4 assists for a free transfer who no one thought would play more than 20 games!
