Swansea City attacker Oli McBurnie was blown away by the performance of Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield in the 3-1 win over Hearts.

The 22-year-old forward took to his personal Twitter account during the Gers’ latest victory in order to simply say “what a player” while witnessing the 30-year-old in action.

“Scotty Arf what a player,” said McBurnie.

Arfield was making his 43rd appearance for the Gers against Hearts on Saturday, and has racked up a total of 11 goals as well as seven assists so far in his 2018/19 campaign.

OPINION

McBurnie may not have used many words to express his opinion on Arfield, but it was clear how impressed he was by the 30-year-old. It’s no surprise that this was the case as the 3-1 victory against Hearts was another game where Arfield oozed class. The left-sided midfielder constantly caused Hearts problems when going forward but also got back to stop his opponents in their tracks before they created anything that could cause his side bother. Arfield joined the Gers at the start of the season on a free transfer from Burnley, and it has proven to be a blinding bit of business on the Gers’ part. To get a player of Arfield’s quality to Ibrox is one thing, but to get him on a free transfer is just ridiculously good business. Hopefully Arfield’s first season at Ibrox is just a taste of what he can offer, and he continues to shine bright, if not brighter, in his 2019/20 campaign for the club.
