Remember James Chester, Aston Villa fans? You could be forgiven for forgetting about the centre back seeing as he has not been seen by the Villa Park faithful since January, with his absence coming at the same time as Tyrone Mings’ rise to power as one of the club’s standout performers in the second half of the season. However, Chester is back among the squad in training, as confirmed on the club’s official Twitter account, with behind-the-scenes photos of Chester’s return posted on the club’s website too, and the supporters are loving it on social media. Having been plagued by injuries all season, the Villans are finally seeing Dean Smith being given a squad full of depth and quality, with Axel Tuanzebe now fit and firing after his own setbacks. To have Mings, Tuanzebe and Chester alongside Tommy Elphick and Kortney Hause as options at the back heading into the playoffs is massive for the club and could well be the difference between sealing promotion back to the Premier League and falling at the final hurdle for a second successive season.

Unpopular opinion but I think Chester is better than Kortney Hause, can’t judge his poor performances while playing through injury considering how good he was for the previous seasons.
