Many West Ham United fans were no doubt gutted in the manner in which they drew their game with Leicester City on Saturday.

The Hammers were 2-1 ahead in the closing stages of the match thanks to a rare goal from Lucas Perez, but the Foxes stole it at the death by netting an equaliser in stoppage time.

Overall, it was a better performance from the entire team, with the likes of Robert Snodgrass and Arthur Masuaku managing to maintain their form from the defeat to Manchester United the week before.

However, there was a player who did look his best, and that, surprisingly, was Felipe Anderson. The 25-year-old has been sublime in recent matches, bamboozling defences with his trickery, but it is safe to say that he was not really at the races on Saturday.

The £85,000-a-week [Spotrac] ace did not really get into the game in the first half of the fixture, barely making a touch to warrant anything useful. There was nothing really exciting from the Brazilian playmaker to be honest, which at the moment, is not a regular occurence.

There was a stage at the start of the season when Anderson just could not seem to string a series of impressive performances together, so fingers crossed that the same is not happening again.

One thing is for sure though, Manuel Pellegrini will have alarm bells ringing after this display. Anderson is without a doubt one of his best players at the moment, and to have him off the boil is not what he needs at the moment.

The fans will certainly be praying that the same does not happen again when they face Tottenham next Saturday. If it does, then the Irons will not be in for a treat.
