COMMENTARY
Nottingham Forest midfielder Pele had a night to forget against Aston Villa and many Forest supporters didn’t hold back when criticising him on social media. The 27-year-old seemed to constantly be wound up by Jack Grealish and it just distracted him from his football. Pele was constantly caught of position, his passes were sloppy and he just looked sluggish by all accounts. While Martin O’Neill did eventually end the player’s dismal performance by bringing him off, just like one Forest fan said below, the change came way too late. It was odd of the experienced manager not to act sooner as Pele showed no signs during that match that he was going to improve. It was disappointing to watch the 27-year-old struggle as you felt if he had been at his best, then the Villans wouldn’t have cruised to a 3-1 victory. Pele showed glimpses in his outing against Hull City that he was a capable player, but O’Neill is going to want see more from him sooner rather than later.

Midfield was just not very good tonight. Pele wasn't anything like as good as he was against Hull. Yates' worst game as well. #nffc
