COMMENTARY
Celtic may have been able to beat Dundee with a last-gasp winner on Sunday but that didn’t stop a number of Hoops supporters venting their displeasure over the performance of certain players. One player who was torn apart on social media for his latest display was James Forrest. The 27-year-old midfielder may have assisted Celtic’s winner against Dundee, but that wasn’t enough for a large number of fans. Several highlighted how aside from the assist, the midfielder struggled. One even claimed that some fans protected Forrest from criticism as he suggested that it was as if the midfielder had Teflon coating for some supporters, due to the fact no one had highlighted that the 27-year-old had struggled since November. It seems rather harsh of that supporter in particular to slam Forrest’s form since then, as he has consistently delivered assists and goals for his side. The only potential blip you could highlight is the fact he went four league games without assisting or scoring at the end of 2018, and that’s unlike him.

James Forrest brutal today yet seems to have a teflon coating for the majority of fans.
Great start to the season but struggled from November onwards – no longer a certain starter when we have options like Burke or Weah.— Chisy (@chisy10) March 17, 2019
Forrest and Toljan have been horrendous down the right Cmon Celtic

Another routine chance that should be converted. Forrest has been rank rotten since scoring that double for Scotland.
