COMMENTARY
Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi had some Villans fans at half-time questioning his first-half display against Birmingham City. Dean Smith’s side may have gone into the break with the scoreline 0-0 but it wasn’t enough to cool the frustrations some had with the 23-year-old winger. One Villans supporter even went as far to say the player was having a complete mare. It’s hard to know why El Ghazi was getting such a negative reaction for his display as it wasn’t the worst 45 minutes by the winger. The 23-year-old did fluff a golden opportunity to score when Jack Grealish played him through on goal but that was about it. While Villans fan are no doubt eager to get one over their local rivals, surely getting on the back on one of their players for a single miss, isn’t going to help anyone. Hopefully El Ghazi is able to respond to his critics in the best possible way in the second-half by scoring to help the Villans get a welcomed victory, as that will surely have supporters back on his side.
