COMMENTARY
Many Aston Villa fans ripped attacker Tammy Abraham apart for his performance in the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. One supporter claimed it was a typical away day performance for the 21-year-old, while a couple labelled his display as a “shocker”. It’s fair to say Abraham’s performance did warrant some stick as nothing went right for the forward. However the 21-year-old kept trying to making things happen and unfortunately it just wasn’t his night. Abraham has generally been in amazing form this season for Dean Smith’s side as he has scored 21 goals in 32 outings, so hopefully his display against Forest was just a rare blip. The forward has proven that he can excel in the Championship and is a clinical force so he will no doubt weave his way back into supporters’ hearts in the coming weeks. Smith knows that he will need Abraham at his best as he is capable of scoring the goals needed to sneak into the play-offs.
