Many Aston Villa fans couldn’t help but drool over midfielder John McGinn after he took the game against Birmingham City by the scruff of the neck on Sunday. The 24-year-old central midfielder entered the game when there was roughly 30 minutes left to play and he was like a breath of fresh air. McGinn looked full of energy and determined to play a key part in his side getting a victory and it was no surprise that he carved out an opportunity for Jack Grealish. The 24-year-old’s teammate took the opportunity to score and earn Villa a 1-0 victory, and he is no doubt grateful for having such a chance put on a plate for him. McGinn will no doubt be one of the first names on Dean Smith’s next teamsheet as he has more than earned a recall back into the starting line-up. The midfielder had to miss the last few games due to a suspension, but now he is available again, it’s clear he is ready to get back to it.
