West Ham must pounce on Brentford attacker Said Benrahma as he could be a useful player for Manuel Pellegrini’s side if signed in the summer.

The 23-year-old is currently the assist king of the Championship, as stated by ESPN, as he has created the most goals in the division by racking up 12 assists in his 30 league outings.

With current wingers Robert Snodgrass and Samir Nasri no spring chickens then the Hammers would benefit from welcoming another promising winger whose best is still to come.

Benrahma more than fits the bill as aside from creating goals for fun in the Championship this season, he has several other attributes that makes him appealing.

The winger, who can play on the left or right flank, is a threat from set-pieces, has slick dribbling skills, and is more than capable of unleashing a powerful shot from distance which would rattle any keeper.

Also former Hammers player Dean Ashton even believes he is Premier League quality as he thinks he’d be an exciting option for a Premier League team in the bottom half of the table to take a look at.

“He has been superb but I think we’d have to see him perform this well for longer to think he could do it for one of those clubs,” the retired forward told Football League World.

“But, certainly, you’d think for the bottom half Premier League sides he’s worth a look because he could be a real exciting option for them.”

While the Hammers are aiming to be more than a bottom-half team in the Premier League, Benrahma would be able to aid their cause.

This is especially the case when you consider Pellegrini has shown a knack for getting the best out of his players this season and the experienced manager could work wonders with the current Brentford flyer.

Therefore while Brentford may put up fight in regards to keeping him, the Hammers should at the very least attempt to lure Benrahma to the London Stadium in the summer.
