OPINION
It is no surprise in the slightest that these Newcastle fans are drooling over Paul Dummett in this 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday. His goal line clearance pretty much summed up what a good day it was for him, and it seems like these Magpies fans agree wholeheartedly. As well as the vital intervention, Dummett’s overall defensive display was solid too. He had been pretty shaky recently and there have been a number of times when he was replaced at left-back by Matt Ritchie, but he more than redeemed himself on Saturday. A few of the supporters here have described him as first class, while another claimed that he was the best player on the pitch. It is hard not to agree with them there – if it were not for him, Newcastle may have lost the game altogether. They were lucky to salvage a point, but performances like these from players more than make up for it.
