It is no secret that Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has a bit of a temper on him and it seems as though that is being used against him on a regular basis.

Only a few weeks ago both the Colombian and Scott McKenna saw red for a physical clash, the Aberdeen defender kicking out while the Gers striker stamped down himself.

His aggressive nature, while it gets him a slew of goals, has also got him on the wrong side of the law and it seems as though he could once again be in trouble for an incident involving Kirk Broadfoot against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The Killie man appeared to scrape his boot down the back of the South American’s leg, Morelos turning to take a swing at him – and Nacho Novo was shocked to see the former Rangers man taking to such underhand tactics to get the current Light Blue favourite in trouble.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: “That’s been planned. Players are going to target strong personalities and wait for a reaction. Everybody wants to win a game and if you can get rid of the other team’s top goalscorer it’s a big help.

“When I played with Kirk he never wound anyone up but that seems to be the way he is now. He must have learned that somewhere else.

“Kirk was always a nice boy who didn’t speak much and just got on with it but he must have changed somewhere down the line. The good players are the ones they try to wind up. It’s easy to see from the outside but lots of players, all they do is try to wind him up, try to make him react.”

Broadfoot might have changed his ways but only because of the character that Morelos is – that is something that the striker and the management at Rangers have got to address.

Instead of being viewed as a threat, the hitman is now surely viewed as a surprise weak spot in this Rangers side – someone that the opposition can rile up into getting punished and therefore securing an advantage.

If Morelos could channel his frustrations into putting the ball into the back of the net there would be no problems – teams would be afraid to wake the beast that awaits inside – but at the moment he is taking it out on the opposition, handing them exactly what they want.

Now even the quietest of personalities will be looking to get one over the Colombian and it should come as no surprise to anyone – his attitude is a liability and has got to be sorted out sooner rather than later.
