Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have joined the chase to sign Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, according to the Sun.

The newspaper reports on their website that Dortmund have targeted the 21-year-old in £25 million deal this summer after emerging as a genuine candidate for his signature.

The report states that Dortmund have been attending every match that their on loan defender Jeremy Toljan has been starring in order to keep a check on his progress – and it seems like Tierney has caught their attention on these trips.

Arsenal are also keen on the young ace, whilst Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has tipped him to make a switch to the Premier League.

Good move for Celtic?

No, absolutely not! Why on earth would they get rid of one of their star players? The £25 million figure may be very tempting, but that does not in anyway justify why they should sell him to a club like Dortmund. Tierney is still 21 and the way he is progressing with the Hoops suggests that he could become even more of a star for them. To let him go at an important stage in his career would not be a wise move at all.

Likely to happen?

Who knows with this one. It is no surprise that Tierney is a player in demand, and it would not be a shock if Celtic did end up being tempted by a £25 million fee for him. He no doubt would be attracted by the lure of playing in one of Europe’s top leagues and this is something that the manager of Celtic will have to come to terms with in the summer. Watch this space.
