Harry Redknapp has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane will stay put at Tottenham despite speculation surrounding their futures this season.

Since Manchester United sacked Jose Mourinho, Pochettino has been linked with taking over at Old Trafford, with the Times reporting in December that the Argentine wants the Red Devils job.

Kane has also been linked with leaving Spurs, with Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato reporting in February that Real Madrid want to sign the England captain.

However ex-Spurs boss Redknapp is adamant that the two men will stay put in North London for the foreseeable future.

“Tottenham are bang in there still, hopefully they can finish third,” he told the Express.

“Oh yeah [Pochettino] will stay with Spurs, he’s at a great big club. New stadium, great players and a great training ground.

“What more could you you want?”

“And Harry Kane. Absolutely, Harry will be at Spurs for years to come, no danger.”

OPINION

It would be a massive shock if Pochettino or Kane was to leave Tottenham at the end of the season. The speculation surrounding Kane’s future has been tenuous to say the least and while Real Madrid will surely want to sign the striker if they had the chance, Daniel Levy is bound to put an astronomical price-tag on his head. As for Pochettino, it is looking more likely that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will get the permanent job at Man United. Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu also quells any speculation about the ex-Espanyol boss heading back to Spain. Two players that Spurs fans need to worry about the future of are Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen. Both enter the final years of their deals in the summer and could be offloaded to ensure that Spurs pocket a transfer fee. A lack of silverware this term could see both of them moving on, unless Levy offers them ridiculously high contracts.
