Wolves are having a blinder of a season so far, and that is down to the group of players that work tirelessly week in, week out.

One of those players is midfielder Joao Moutinho, who having made 33 appearances in all competitions this season, is often the first name on the teamsheet for boss Nuno Espirito Santo. He is like an engine in the middle of the park, and keeps things ticking over rather nicely.

However, Morgan Gibbs-White has now given the mainstay a run for his money after replacing him in the starting XI to face Cardiff last weekend.

The 19-year-old put out an assured, mature display and linked up beautifully with Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez for Wolves’ first goal in this 2-0 win, showcasing just why Nuno should start him more often than he does already.

The 32-year-old may have replaced the youngster in the 63rd minute, but that does not mean that he cannot be concerned about whether his spot in the team is under threat.

The performance of Gibbs-White suggests that may be the case, so do not be shocked if he is in the team to face Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

He really came into his own that afternoon and Moutinho has a right to be worried, as his regular spot could be about to be usurped by a player who is around 13 years younger than he is.

One thing the fans can learn from this though, is that the manager does have a selection headache on his hands for the Blues clash, and this can only be a good thing when you look at the quality both players possess.

Just who does he opt for this time around? Does he opt for his young gun, or does he opt for a more experienced head on more experienced shoulders?

Over to you, Nuno.
