COMMENTARY
Manchester United defender Chris Smalling didn’t impress a number of Man United fans with his first-half display against Wolves. The 29-year-old centre-back actually seemed to be having a good game against Wolves, but apparently not all supporters saw it that way. One was plotting his exit by saying that the club should sign an upgrade on him, while another rather harshly claimed his ability on the ball was League One level at best. Yet during the match with Wolves, the 29-year-old’s passing actually looked impressive. Smalling made a couple of promising forward passes and if anything deserves praise. When you consider Man United went into the half-time break 0-0 with Wolves on Saturday, it’s hard to see why fans were so aggravated by Smalling’s presence. Hopefully the centre-back is able to get all fans on his side in the second-half because based on his recent form, he does deserve the backing of the crowd.
