Many eyebrows were certainly raised when West Ham United signed Samir Nasri in January. So far, his move has had mixed reactions.

There have been points where he has shown the fans glimpses of greatness, but there have also been times where he has been down right awful. Seeing as the 31-year-old is on loan for the season, it remains to be seen whether his future is at the London Stadium beyond the summer.

Felipe Anderson has not been in the form of his life recently, which has no doubt led many fans to call for a new attacking midfielder to be signed in a few months’ time. Well, the Hammers must look no further than Mason Mount, a Chelsea player who is currently on loan at Championship side Derby County.

The Sun have reported that Bournemouth are leading the chase for the 20-year-old, who is poised to make the step up to the Premier League next season. However, it should be the Irons who win the chase for his signature.

The young dazzler has been thoroughly impressing during his loan stint at Derby, scoring six goals during the 32 appearances he has made for the Rams this term. The report states that the midfielder has a few admirers, and this is no surprise given the great form he has been in. He has been an integral part of their success this season, and this is something West Ham should take advantage of.

Mount is at the standard where he could quite easily be a success at a top-flight club, and West Ham is the club where he can showcase his ability at.

Many Irons would surely drool if the club plotted a swoop for him in the summer, as they would have found themselves a real gem.
