Tottenham’s players fear Harry Kane has decided it’s time to quit the club in search of trophies elsewhere, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper claim the Spurs dressing room has major doubts over the future of the 25-year-old after failing failing to win a medal during his half-decade of prodigious goal scoring.

The Telegraph report Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy values Kane at around £200million after he signed a new six-year contract last year.

OPINION

Given Spurs tied Kane down to a contract last year that runs until 2024, they are sitting pretty, right? The poster boy of English football is the best paid player in the club’s history and is in a team that is third in the Premier League and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. He has also had another enormously productive season, taking his personal haul to 24 this campaign with his second of the week in last weekend’s defeat to Southampton. Yet, it can’t be ignored that one thing is glaringly absent for Kane and the other Spurs players moulded into such an eyecatchingly impressive side by Mauricio Pochettino: trophies. Spurs will extend their trophy drought to 11 years if they fail to win the Champions League on 1 June, which is possible but is still a massively tall order. Only Kane himself will know how frustrated he is, but there were reports a fortnight ago he was fuming behind the scenes after the defeat to Chelsea ended the club’s title hopes.
