All Tottenham fans must be sweating buckets as if Robbie Savage is right then the club are at risk of not finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The outspoken pundit predicted Spurs’ final points total for the season, along with Chelsea’s, Arsenal’s and Manchester United’s, and shared he thought they’d only get 14 more points from the matches that remained.

Savage’s predictions meant that by his calculations,  Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal would all finish on 75 points this season which means fourth place could be decided on goal difference.

“The race for the Champions League who is going to finish third and fourth?” said Savage in a clip uploaded to his personal Twitter account.

“Well I have looked at the remaining fixtures of Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea and I have come up with this conundrum.

“It”s going to be so close, it’s going to come down to goal difference.

“Spurs I’ve calculated their remaining games, 14 points, Arsenal, 15 points, Manchester United, 18 points, and Chelsea 17 points.

“That leaves the top four looking like Manchester City looking like they’re going to win, Liverpool, Manchester United third on 76 points then Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all on 75, it’s going to come down to goal difference.

“Whose going to score the goals to fire them to the Champions League places? Well at Arsenal Aubameyang, Lacazette, Spurs, Harry Kane and Chelsea, Higuain and Hazard.

“But I’m going to go City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.”

While Savage may obviously be wrong, and barking up the wrong tree with his calculations as well as by backing Chelsea, yet there is a chance he could be right.

Also when you look at the fact that when Savage remarks on Spurs, he backs only Kane to be a guaranteed source of goals while claiming that both Arsenal and Chelsea have two players each to count on, it shows the struggle they may face.

What if the 25-year-old forward suffers a dip in form or suffers another injury? While Pochettino’s side coped without him before with players stepping up in his absence, lightning might not strike twice.

This is particularly worrying as if Savage is on the money with his Premier League conundrum and it ends up going to goal difference, Spurs need to be scoring for fun to ensure they achieve Champions League football.

Yet that definitely seems easier said than done.
