Many Manchester City fans were frustrated with midfielder David Silva on Tuesday after witnessing his first-half display against Schalke. The experienced playmaker regularly lost possession and supporters responded by destroying the player on social media for it. One fan claimed they couldn’t believe how unbelievably bad Silva was, while another suggested the 33-year-old was past his prime. It’s easy to see why Man City fans were jumping on the player’s back despite their side leading Schalke 3-0 at the break, as Silva has struggled for form in recent weeks. Normally the playmaker is a key part of Pep Guardiola’s side but for some reason his form has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. While Man City fans are moaning about Silva, hopefully the player can respond in the best possible way by upping his performances in the coming weeks. You feel Guardiola’s team need the playmaker at his best if they are going to have any chance of pulling off the quadruple this season.
