COMMENTARY

Where has this Luke Ayling been all season for Leeds United? The right back went from hero to zero earlier in the campaign with a series of poor performances but his first half against Reading showed him at his best – in an attacking sense at least. He was a constant threat down the right hand flank, most notably with his assist for Mateusz Klich’s opening goal, demonstrating impressive pace, ball control and awareness time and again. He might not have looked entirely comfortable with Mo Barrow bearing down on him down the wing but it appears as though the fans can excuse his defensive misgivings if he continues to cause havoc at the other end of the pitch. It was by no means a perfect performance in the opening 45 minutes at the Madjeski but it was definitely a display which reflected the Ayling the fans know and love. They will be hoping it continues until the end of the season.
